Special Tribute to first responders Fires, shootings and 9/11

 

Tuesday, September 11, 2012 | 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM @ Civic Center Park

Join us for Colorado Remembers – a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony & Special Tribute to first responders in the wake of the Colorado wildfires  and the Aurora tragedy.  This free event in Civic Center Park, will include the Colorado National Guard, Taps &  World Trade Center artifacts.

Hosted by Governor John Hickenlooper, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan, the event will feature remarks by Denver Broncos’ John Elway and live musical performances by Hazel Miller and the Colorado Children’s Chorale.

A special tribute will be made by Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates and Aurora Fire Chief Mike Garcia.

Centennial Made the "Best Place to Live in America List"

Five Colorado cities listed as "Best Places to Live in America"

Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Boulder and Fort Collins made the list, which was released Monday.

In describing Castle Rock as the 16th- best place to live, the magazine noted that "a far cry from its Wild West beginnings, Castle Rock has set out to become a major magnet for business."

Highlands Ranch followed at 23rd for "some of the best outdoor stuff Colorado has to offer."

Centennial ranked 49th. "There's a lot to pack in: the pedestrian and bike-friendly Centennial Link Trail and brand new Centennial Center Park," the magazine noted.

Amazing Dog rescue on Mount Bierstadt! Must read.

So, the people on this forum find a dog that is just wondering around on Mt. Bierstadt. They get together to rescue her and do a heroic job using the forum, not knowing how this dog came to be wondering the fourteener alone then the guy comes on and actually admits to leaving her up there!!!! You gotta read the 46 pages on the forum. Amazing story!
